This book is an attempt to summarize the knowledge and personal experience accumulated throughout 18 years of work in the field of physics and technology of thin organic films, organic-inorganic nanostructures, and chemical and biosensing. Initially the book was planned as a research monograph, but later in the process of writing I introduced a quite substantial scientific background in every chapter in order to make the subject more understandable for a wide scientific audience. Then I realized that the book might be very useful for postgraduate and even undergraduate students. The book contains the original scientific results obtained by the author, as well as substantial literature reviews in every chapter, which makes it useful for academics and researchers working in the field of nanotechno
